Abiding in HIM!!
"Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing." John 15:5 (NLT)
Dear Friends,
Greetings from Mississippi!
I just wanted to take a moment and thank the Lord with you. For surely, only by His Grace have we been kept, saved, healed, delivered, and blessed.
FAMILY UPDATE
As many of you know, Samantha and Wesley Hamlin were married in 2016. And, God has continued to truly blessed them. They are settling into their new life and we thank God for them. It was wonderful to see so many friends and family from far and near at their wedding celebration.
Marcia, meanwhile, has completed more than half of her sophomore year at Belhaven University. She has now applied to nursing school for next year. She enjoys her classes and has many friends. She loves her work study job at the local Crisis Pregnancy Center. We thank God for her and this opportunity she has to learn.
Abigail is in 10th grade at Germantown High School. She is doing well at school and has an exciting opportunity this summer. More details below. Thank you for praying for her.
Finally, recently, Jacob has been very interested in Ballroom dancing. So, the other day, Michelle and Jake attended a class. They not only really enjoyed the class, but more importantly, they met a young man named Demetrius. He had just moved in to the area and had begun studies at a nearby college. When Michelle asked if he had a church to attend, he said he did not. He has since come to our church a couple of times and has been touched by the presence of God.
God is so good!! Sometimes just inviting someone to church can start a whole new chapter in a person's life. And, by the way, Michelle and Jake persuaded me to go to the class as well. (ha, ha)
ASIAN FRIENDS
Over the Fall season many of our Asian friends had big moves. Eugene and Kimberly, from Malaysia, moved to Missouri for work. And, our good friends, Kevin and Risa Helm, moved to Michigan. Other dear Japanese friends are moving back to Japan this spring. Each person has been a joy to connect with. It has been hard to see them go and we really miss having our Asian Life Group. May God bless each of them.
PRAYER NEEDS
1. Trip to Japan. Abigail has an exciting opportunity to visit Japan this summer. She will see old friends and serve as a volunteer at the Sano International School. She will also participate in music and worship opportunities at the Church.
She will be there for six weeks; leaving at the end of May and returning the beginning of July. She has been working very hard to raise support for her trip. In addition to her efforts, she is believing the Lord for about $1,000 more. If you would like to give toward her trip, she would be truly grateful.
2. Trip to Canada. Michelle and I are so happy to be celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary this April. We are believing to return to the place we spent our honeymoon; Jasper Park Lodge in the Canadian Rockies. We also look forward to visiting our good friends Apostles Alex and Rosetta Florence in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Thank you for your prayers.
VERY EXCITING OPPORTUNITY
Thank you for praying and standing with us. If you would like to give toward Abigail's mission trip to Japan, you can give to her directly (no tax-deduction). She would love to hear from you. Out address is:
