New Strategy - Relocation to Mississippi in June 2011

Michelle and I want to thank you for partnering with us through the years. Your partnership means so much to us as we follow God`s call on our family to reach Japan and the nations of Asia for the Kingdom of God. We have a God given passion to help reach out to the poor and the children of Asia with the love of God. That`s why, in the next couple of years, I feel God leading us to prepare to return to Asia to live and get involved in creating a shelter, a "Presence Place", for the needy and underprivileged kids to come and receive protection, healing, and nurture in the things of God. He is putting a fire in our hearts to raise a new order of world changers for Him.

STRATEGY- RELOCATION TO MISSISSIPPI IN JUNE 2011

So, right now, in order to get ready for this move back to Asia, we are excited to share with you our next step. In just under one month, we are headed for MS (Mississippi) where Jacob will learn at Ballet Magnificat and we will operate from there in our ongoing Asian ministry. We believe God`s leading in this direction for several reasons:

1. BALLET MAGNIFICAT. Yes, I guess some of it has to do with Jake and his passion for ballet. As many of you know, Jake has been involved with this ministry from even before we came back from Japan. And, we all see how this would practically be a good move for his future.

However, even without that, I really feel good in my spirit that this relocation would be good for the whole family. God has a lot to say about the importance of the family. Ultimately, one of the main reasons for returning to the USA involved understanding this Kingdom value of family. So, while this decision to relocate may not be the easiest decision to make, I believe that as we obey God, He has many good things in store for us there.

2. NEW RELATIONSHIPS. On our previous visits to Jackson, MS, we have been enjoying getting to know Pastor David Hale and the Christ Life Church of the Highlands.   Communicating  God's heart of love for the Japanese to the Western Church  will bring expansion to ministry on both sides of the Pacific Ocean.  We will continue to nurture relationships with AIM leaders, Jim and Jan Erb, John and Sue Bowers of Erie Grace Fellowship, Phil and Alexa Taylor of Titusville Grace Fellowship, Mark and Cathy Kuntz of XP Web Church and many, many others who have proven to be a critical part of who we are.

3. OUTREACH TO JAPANESE. While in Jackson, we have a heart to develop relationships with the Japanese community. With Japanese businesses in the area of Jackson, I look forward to getting involved in anyway possible to reach out with the love of God right here in the USA.

4. JAPAN AND ASIAN MINISTRY DEVELOPMENT. As God leads I desire to raise up prayer warriors for Asia, make connections, and support projects that allow us to learn how to create our own shelter. My trips to Japan will focus primarily on fostering and developing Japanese people to make trips into Asia. My trips to Asia, at first, will be to the Philippines to learn from such places as the Gentle Hands ministry in Manila. Eventually, I believe it will open doors to other Asian nations. God has spoken to us about going to such places as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thai/Cambodian border.

HOW DOES IT ALL CONNECT?

We will be partnering for a new work of God for Kingdom purposes. As we look forward to this new thrust into Jackson, we are looking to build a team with a heart for Asia. Without building up a team base, we can not do it. We look to develop a team of partners who will be informed and engaged in seeing effective outreach to Asia and development of the first "Presence Place" shelter for children in Asia.

We look to partner with you in some new ways. Here are some ideas:

  • Weekly update (we are looking into email video update)
  • Organized meetings, skype sessions (personal or corporate)
  • Business and/or Church visits

We would like to invite you to join with us in this transition to MS and this new thrust in missions. Things are happening so fast, and, at your request, we would be happy to talk to you and/or send you more detailed information concerning more specific areas of involvement. Presently, with moving costs, we are in most need of finances to help with the transition. Please refer to the partner information below.

I am so excited about this new strategy for this time. Thank you for partnering with us in fulfilling the calling God has given us for Asia.

The Power of the Testimony!

HI! I thank God for you! This week, I am reminded of the power of the testimony. David, before facing Goliath, shared this testimony to King Saul.

In I Samuel 17, David spoke to Saul and said, "Your servant has been keeping his father`s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it. Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has denied the armies of the living God. The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand this Philistine."

Wow! A person I heard speak recently shared the meaning of the word "testimony". He studied up on the word and found it meant "God, do it again!" Yes, Lord, as we share our testimonies, may God arise in our midst and "do it again" for His glory and Kingdom. PTL!!

So what is YOUR testimony???  You can use it to route the enemy. Send them along so we can encourage each other in the Lord!

JAPAN RELIEF UPDATE

Here are a couple of FB posts from Jeremy and Kumi in Japan to Michelle:

Jeremy and Kumi in Japan
Michelle, Sendai is much, much better than the other places, of course... they are saying that the recovery process is much slower than it was for Kobe. I have a feeling that the small towns and cities are just dealing with the immediate need providing temporary solution, but I'm not sure if there are any real long term strategy... it's just my impression as I have no TV here where we are staying. We got connected with a nurse who works in Iwate and goes to shelters in Kesennuma regularly, and she said that the situation has not improved and people are getting more depressed.

Jeremy and Kumi in Japan Also feel prayer is needed for the voluntary workers and self defence force guys... it's been 2 months+ and many have been working on high stress level non stop. This is a long term effort and I know this is where we need to depend on God so we are not just needs driven but always work from God's love and resting in Him. Eaiser said than done, maybe, so I just keep praying.

So, please pray for Japan in the following ways:

  • Pray for a long term strategy for recovery to come forth.
  • Pray for improvement in the situation at the shelters
  • Pray for the spirit of depression to lift from the people
  • Pray for J & K, and all of us, that we will always work from God`s love and resting in Him
  • Pray and declare this disaster marks the beginning of revival in Japan
MESSAGE FROM MARK AND MICHELLE

Although we as a family miss being in Japan very much, we know God has us here in the USA for such a time as this. Thank you for standing with us as we continue to communicate God`s love everywhere we go; including God`s love for the Japanese and the people of Asia. Pray we may be able to bring expansion in ministry through prayer, networking, and taking mission trips on both sides of the Pacific.

Also, we want to thank you for partnering with us at this time. If you are not already a partner, would you consider becoming a monthly partner with us? This partnership enables us to share of God`s love and to bring awareness of His heart for Asia. Thank you.

The Mountains and the Hills

Hi! I`m so excited to be in touch with you this week! Reign of Grace Ministries (AIM) communicates God`s love for the Japanese and the people of Asia. We seek to bring expansion in ministry through prayer, networking, and taking mission trips on both sides of the Pacific. Thank you for standing with us in what God has called us to do.

WHAT IS THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN IN JAPAN?

Did you know three-fourths of Japan remains covered with mountains? And, if you ever fly over Japan, you would see tall mountain ranges running through the center of the country like a spine. On the main island of Honshu, not too far from Tokyo, Mt. Fuji stands as the tallest mountain (12, 390 feet). At the base of the mountain is a national park where many people enjoy climbing to the top for a breathtaking view.

The Word of God says in Isaiah 55:12 "You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands." As people of faith, when we take time in His presence, He raises us up and sends us out in joy. He leads us forth in peace to release His glory and Kingdom to a world that does not know Him.

Let`s keep remembering Japan! Although many Japanese people worship the mountain itself as god, let`s pray that the mountains and hills will burst into song and the glory of the Creator God will be seen and worshipped throughout this nation. Please pray in the following ways:

  • Pray for northern Japan where the earthquake and tsunami hit
  • Pray for Jeremy and Kumiko Jenkins, the Church, and all who share the love of God through faith in Jesus Christ in bringing healing, restoration, miracle working power.

GULLAND FAMILY UPDATE

  • Samantha - We are still in process of working out things for Samantha`s hopes for Faith Academy in the fall. We continue to seek God for His wisdom and provision for God`s best for her.
  • Jacob - The dates for the Ballet Magnificat Summer Intensive are coming up quickly! (June 25th to July 23) He is still in need of funds for this time there. Thank you for PRAYING for him that God will do a great work in his heart and body. Also, pray for the counsellors and other campers to really experience a life-changing time.

SIGNS - May 6th

Hi! I`m so excited to see the increase God brings into our lives. Love and blessings to you!

JAPAN

Thank you for praying for the relief efforts. Jeremy and Kumiko Jenkins, the leaders of the Church we helped to start, recently shared some amazing stories of salvation, healing, and a genuine openness to listen to the good news of the Gospel. PTL!

This past week started the national holiday called "Golden Week". The 5th of May marks "Children`s Day" there. I want to ask you to remember the children of Japan in prayer. Pray God moves mightily among the younger generation of Japanese that many will come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ and His saving grace.

In the Gospel of Mark 16:17,18 it says "And these signs will accompany those who believe: ...they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." I`ll never forget the time when I served at the Sano International School in Sano, Japan. I met a young boy named Shunsuke in the kindergarten. One day, Shunsuke had a stomach ache. When he came to me and told me his problem, I felt led of the Spirit to command the stomach ache to leave in the name of Jesus. Immediately, the pain left. PTL! Shunsuke went on to talk a lot about God, Jesus, etc,. and I thank God for the opportunity I had to sow seeds of the Gospel into the younger generation of Japanese. As we pray for the children of Japan, I believe God will open the eyes and the hearts of this generation and result in a great harvest of souls for the Kingdom of God.

Lets`s pray for an awesome move of God among the children of this nation and the nations of Asia!!

REIGN OF GRACE MINISTRIES (AIM) - The Gullands

As you know, God has a deep call on my FAMILY and I to reach Japan and the nations of Asia for the Gospel. Our hearts burn to reach the young generation; especially the poor and needy of SE Asia with the love of God. I have a dream to raise up teams in Japan, and now the USA, to go reach out for Jesus. Yes, our next steps have involved being in the USA, and God has shown our purpose at this time involves two main aspects:

  •  Communicating His heart of love for the Japanese, and people of Asia, to the Western Church
  •  Bringing expansion of ministry on both sides of the Pacific Ocean, at this moment, through prayer, connection to reputable ministries, and mission trips
Even though we as a family have followed God to the USA, we are really looking to build a team of partners with a heart for God and Asia. I want to keep this team of partners informed, prepared, and able to respond to the opportunities God leads us in. As we look forward to moving ahead in this season, we look to the Lord for provision to fulfill vision. Thank you for your involvement!
