A Greeting from Mark and Michelle, scriptures to read, 2012, etc

Merry Christmas to everyone!!!

Mark and I would like to thank everyone who has helped us this past year. With your help, we have pushed through into a new season. Many times, we felt like we couldn't make it, but THEN, God sent YOU... with your words of encouragement, with your love, with your financial support, with your time, and with your stuff!!!! God surely has been Good to us!!!!

Thank you Titusville Grace Fellowship Church! You have been with us through thick and thin! We appreciate your true Christian love! We have been helped up, strengthened and so blessed through you!

Thank you AIM family and Jim and Jan Erb. We miss you all very much!

Thank you many friends from all over the world.... you are too many to list....we love you and know that God has put us together for His purposes!!! It is so great to be part of a huge kingdom family!

Thank you Ballet Magnificat for putting up with us this year. You have made one boys heart very happy!

Thank you to my family..... I am so happy we have been able to be closer this year. It has truly been my pleasure to watch how things work at home with mom and dad, my brothers, and their families. I tell everybody that I know what true love is!! I can see it in ALL of my family where ever they are!

Thank you to Mark's family.... another one of those unexpected blessings!!! Mark's parents have gone beyond the call of duty in praying for us, loving us and just being there for us.... they even came to Mississippi twice this year!!! Thanks for the braces and lots of laughs, Chuck! Welcome to the family, Debbie! (Remember you are called... just like Esther.... for such a time as this.) John and Diane... thanks for showing us the way and for sharing your whole family with us!

I could say a whole lot more, but I will stop with this! ( I am running out of kleenex, too!!!)

Last, I want to thank the LORD Jesus! Many times, the Holy Spirit will wake me up at night....I will get up to pray, worship or just listen. Recently, i was was lead to read the Word and found these awesome scriptures in Corinthians....may it bless you as it blessed me! Merry Christmas everyone!!!

24But to those who are called, whether Jew or Greek (Gentile), Christ [is] the Power of God and the Wisdom of God.

25[This is] because the foolish thing [that has its source in] God is wiser than men, and the weak thing [that springs] from God is stronger than men.

26For [simply] consider your own call, brethren; not many [of you were considered to be] wise according to human estimates and standards, not many influential and powerful, not many of high and noble birth.

27[No] for God selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is foolish to put the wise to shame, and what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame.

28And God also selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is lowborn and insignificant and branded and treated with contempt, even the things that are nothing, that He might depose and bring to nothing the things that are,

29So that no mortal man should [have pretense for glorying and] boast in the presence of God.

30But it is from Him that you have your life in Christ Jesus, Whom God made our Wisdom from God, [revealed to us a knowledge of the divine plan of salvation previously hidden, manifesting itself as] our Righteousness [thus making us upright and putting us in right standing with God], and our Consecration [making us pure and holy], and our Redemption [providing our ransom from eternal penalty for sin].

31So then, as it is written, Let him who boasts and proudly rejoices and glories, boast and proudly rejoice and glory in the Lord.

2012- PI in April

In addition to our desire to outreach to Japanese in MS, be involved in the ministry of Ballet Magnificat, and hang out with the kids at "God`s Haven", I`m so excited to share with you our invitation to go to the Philippines in April.

The vision remains to share the love of Jesus Christ with the poor and destitute Philippine people. The team provides free medical and dental care in rural and urban areas thereby opening the door to present the Gospel to thousands of individuals.

In addition to the medical clinics, the team and I will be a part of children`s ministry, evangelism, healing, and prayer ministry.

Although I am not sure what my (perhaps Michelle`s) schedule will be, I look forward to visiting and spending time at an orphanage there.

The final costs of the trip will be about $900 in country, price of ticket to/from Manila, and a departure tax of $20. I hope to have more specific finalized costs by the end of January.

Thank you for your partnership with us and please pray about your involvement in making this trip a reality for Kingdom purposes!!

FAMILY AND PRAYER NEEDS

I want to thank those who are responding to becoming a regular monthly partner! By so doing, you connect with us in fulfilling our calling to make a base of ministry here, take missions trips, and do outreaches in the local area. And, we continue to look for creative ways to finance the things of the Kingdom.

Please continue to pray for wisdom and favor in 2012.

First Love!

Dear Friends,

How are you? We love and miss you very much.

As we all enjoy this busy Christmas season, may we realign with God`s covenant of love and reignite His fire in us. May each of us be restored to our "first love"(Rev. 2:4-5) and let our light shine in a fresh new way!

THANK YOU.....

GFC in Titusville, PA - Thank you so much for having us over to share with you on the 27th of Nov. You remain a huge part of our lives and we miss you all very much. We are looking forward to greater "glory" in the days ahead and thank you for your ongoing support.

The Ito`s - Thank you for coming over to our house yesterday. We really enjoyed the fellowship. You are a real blessing. And, we are stirred more in our calling to Japan because of you.

Jesse McCaul of NLF in Cambodia - Thank you for skyping with me this week. You definitely have a heart and passion for Jesus and this great "Kingdom of Cambodia". I look forward to what God has planned for 2012!

Partners - Thank you for your partnership with us. Your prayers and giving to us through Reign of Grace (AIM) remains an important part of helping us to be a part of Ballet Magnificat in MS, God`s Haven (safe house for homeless mother`s with children), taking short-term trips (like Cambodia in October), and to reaching out to the Japanese community in our area.

PRAYER NEEDS MET

Thank you for praying about our car situation.  Praise the Lord,  He lead us to a 2008 Chevy Uplander with low mileage.  We were able to get a good price on it.  It was really wonderful to drive to PA/OH safely and in style.  God is so good! Thanks for praying!!

FAMILY AND PRAYER NEEDS

Really, Although we do what we can to raise the money to live and expand the ministry here, without your ongoing support (and increased support), we would not be able to make it here.

We are praying and asking God for an increase in regular monthly partners to help us move forward as we make a base of ministry, take mission trips, and do outreaches in the local area. And, we continue to look for creative ways to finance the things of the Kingdom.

Please pray with us for wisdom and favor to move forward as we approach 2012.

Hope in the Lord!

Dear Partners,

Lamentations 3: 25, "The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;"

As we put our hope in Him by seeking Him with all our heart, we may experience His goodness in a fresh way everyday. I thank God for His awesome goodness. And, I thank God for you.

BALLET MAGNIFICAT

God moved mightily at the outreach performance with Ballet Magnificat last Thursday night. Jacob played a prince and Abigail played an angel in separate performances during the night. A lot of people came and a good time was had by all.

M & M

While Mark continues to clean at the church, he helped facilitate a round-table discussion at CLH church on Wednesday night for their regular weekly mid-week service. Michelle continues to work hard at overseeing homeschool and sewing uniforms for the Ballet "Snow Queen" with Ballet Magnificat.

JAPANESE - SPEAKING CHURCH

Perhaps the most exciting event came when we attended the Jackson Japanese-Speaking Church on Sunday afternoon. We had so much fun meeting Japanese people and talking the language. As we sang and worshipped in Japanese, my heart stirred again for the salvation of this precious nation and our wonderful friends we left behind when we returned. We all look forward to attending again soon and serving the Japanese community here as God leads.

Schedule:

  • Wednesday - All family at mid-week service. Mark helping as a facilitator in discussion round-table.
  • Thursday - Jake at Ballet Mag. All the rest of us hanging with the kids at "God`s Haven" in Jackson.
  • Friday - Fun night with some of the "Ballet Mag `ers"
  • Tuesday, November 22 - leave for OH
  • Sunday, November 27 - GFC in Titusville, PA
Prayer Needs:
1. Computer - one of the computers the kids use for school completely died. Please pray for this urgent need.
2. Car - Michelle and I looked at a car tonight. While we were approved for a loan, we are believing God to get a car debt free.
3. Trip to OH and PA- Believe God with us to move in a special way for this family and ministry trip

For His Glory!

Dear Partners,

Psalms 85: "Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land."

God wants His glory to dwell in our land more and more.

The other day, a new Kroger store opened near our house. When we went to check it out, Jacob noticed a young Japanese family shopping there.  After we got our courage up, I spoke to them and we ended up exchanging names and addresses.

This week Michelle and I enjoyed meeting with the Nagata`s. Not only did we get a chance to freshen up on our japanese language, we also had opportunity to develop a relationship with this family residing in our neighborhood so far from their homeland of Japan.

Please pray for us as we have a heart to reach to the Japanese community for the Kingdom of God here in MS. And, please pray for the Nagata family. PTL!

Meanwhile, the kids are doing fine. Samantha was asked to babysit for the weekend. Marcia helped Samantha. And, Abigail stayed the night with her and enjoyed time with a new friend.

Thank you for praying and supporting the kids as they grow and learn here.

Also, please pray for Jake and Abigail. They will perform with Ballet Magnificat at `An Evening with Angels`, presented by the Salvation Army of Greater Jackson`s Women`s Auxiliary. The evening will pay tribute to the `Angels` among us who give selflessly to their families, friends, and community.

Pray for them, and all the kids, that the Glory of God will manifest mightily in and through them. The performance is Thursday night at 7PM.

URGENT PRAYER NEEDED

We have a family and ministry need of a vehicle. Our 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan (215,000 miles plus) has been in the garage a lot recently. And, it appears we will need to replace it soon. Pray that the car holds out for as long as we need it. And, please believe with us as we ask God for a miracle of another car. Thanks!!

We just want to say how we appreciate your partnership with us in the callings God has given us to accomplish as a family.

Thank you for standing with us.

If you are not a partner, we invite you to become a partner with us in the spreading of the Gospel of the Kingdom. May His glory dwell in your land wherever He has placed you.

Remember, He has you there for `such a time as this` to show forth His glory and presence to a dying world.

An Update!

Hi Friends and Partners!

Thank you for standing with us in prayer and financial support! Your partnership means so much to us. Because of your partnership, we may fulfill God`s call on our family to help reach out to the poor and the children of Japan/Asia with the love of God.

CAMBODIAN OUTREACH

I travelled to Cambodia. I joined a team to put on a medical clinic. While I was there, we touched nearly 900 poor and desperate Cambodian people living in the countryside. I could never have imagined the dynamic effect on this, one of the poorest, nations of Asia with the love of God.

I wish you could have travelled with us and experienced first-hand the incredible power of the Holy Spirit upon so many of these people. I witnessed many turning their hearts to God, getting needed medical and dental attention, and some even experiencing miraculous healing from Him.

I am humbled and honored to be a part of representing you on such impacting outreaches. I also gained much valuable information in preparation to return to Japan and Asia to help with or create "Presence Places" for needy and underprivileged kids to come and receive protection, healing, and nurture in the things of God.

Can you imagine having harvest time and time again from seed sown into the Gospel of the Kingdom to this and many nations?

FAMILY UPDATE

We are all doing well. After I returned from Cambodia, we all spent a few days in Panama City, FL. on the white sands of the Gulf of Mexico. We met up with Apostles Alex and Rosetta Florence, Apostle Ron Sawka (my brother in law from Japan), and others. We attended the International Gathering of the Apostles and Prophets at Christian International and enjoyed some needed family time.

School is going well for all the kids. And, Jacob continues to learn at Ballet Magnificat. He and Abigail will be in the ballet "Snow Queen" this December. Michelle works hard at making all the costumes on time for this performance.

Samantha volunteers at the cafe in CLH Church. And, Marcia is learning German.

All in all, God blesses and continues to prepare us as we plan to return to Japan/Asia in His timing.

GOD`S HAVEN

One outreach we enjoy as a family involves hanging out with the kids at "God`s Haven" on Thursday nights in Jackson. "God`s Haven" is a safe house for mothers and their children. While the mothers learn about Jesus and various life skills, we go and put on a simple program for the kids. I play the guitar and share a lesson, while Michelle prepares a craft and snack. Please pray for us as we participate and may each child be touched with the love of God.

REMEMBER THE POOR

Here`s a couple of verses God gave me concerning His heart:

Proverbs 19:17 "He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward him for what he has done."

Psalms 41:1,2 "Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the Lord delivers him in times of trouble. The Lord will protect him and preserve his life; he will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desire of his foes."

I love the promises in these verses:

  • He will deliver us in times of trouble
  • He will protect us
  • He will bless us in the land
  • He will not surrender us to the desire of our enemies
INVITATION TO GET INVOLVED

Here`s how you can help us as we live in MS and minister to the precious people of Japan/Cambodia/Asia:

  • We are presently residing in MS and looking to take the next steps to create a base here in which to go and come from the nations.
  • We are going to Ohio and Pennsylvania in November. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible. We will see family and minister at GFC on November 27th.
  • We are looking to join a missions team to Kenya in February. There is another medical missions opportunity to the Philippines in April. If you would be interested in joining, please let me know.
  • We are asking God for many miracles in this next month. Would you be one of our monthly partners to sow a seed of any amount? Your seed will help us share the wonderful message of the Gospel of the Kingdom!

Thank you from the depths of our heart for your seed and investment in us as we share God`s love.

Sincerely,
Mark Gulland

Outreach

Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors,

Thank you so much for your thoughts, prayers, and support of us!

"Do not deprive the alien or the fatherless of justice, or take the cloak of the widow as a pledge. Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and the Lord your God redeemed you from there. That is why I command you to do this." Deuteronomy 24: 17,18

MISSISSIPPI- USA

Although we continue to make many adjustments to Mississippi, God remains faithful. Our son Jacob has connected with the Ballet Magnificat ministry in Jackson. And, in order to cover his involvement, Michelle also serves in this ministry by sewing costumes for the ballet dancers. We thank God for the opportunity to connect with this ministry. Feel free to look up Ballet Magnificat on the internet to see how God uses this work to touch many lives for the sake of the Kingdom of God.

FAMILY

Meanwhile, we are all doing well as a family. While I continue to help out with the cleaning at CLH and prepare for a mission trip (see below), Michelle works with Jacob`s NACD school program. She also assists with the girls school studies as well. I can`t believe Samantha has become a senior. We are so proud of her. Marcia has entered the ninth grade and is doing well. And, Abigail is in the fifth grade. Please pray for us as we continue to make this step to MS on the way to Japan and Asia.

CAMBODIA

I wanted to write and share with you that, in October, I will be going to Cambodia on a medical mission with friends and contacts from Japan. I had been invited on this trip for a long time, but with all the adjustments to MS, I did not think I could participate. Then, out of the blue, God provided a couple of special gifts to cover my ticket. So, after praying and talking it over with Michelle, I felt a peace in my spirit to go. Although I still need some finances for the "extra`s" that go with taking this kind of trip, I thank God for His perfect timing.

I will leave on the 8th of October for the capital city Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Then, I will join a team of doctors, dentists, and believers from Okinawa, Japan and the USA. We will travel to various places in difficult outlying areas and host clinics. We will have an evangelism tent, a children`s ministry, a medical clinic, and a dental clinic; complete with a pharmacy. It goes without saying the needy people, extreme poverty, and spiritual darkness, we will encounter. We will reach out to 1,000 to 1,500 people with each clinic. I am scheduled to be a part of at least three clinics during the time I am there. I return to MS on the 17th of October.

Michelle and I wanted to let you know about this trip and a little of what is happening with us while in MS. I would like to ask you to especially pray for my family and I as we continue to adjust to MS and reach out to Cambodia.

PRAYER NEEDS

  • The Cambodia Medical Mission - October 8th - 17th (souls saved, basic needs of the people met, my health, the "extra" finances to make the trip, etc)
  • Michelle and the Kids (school studies, good friends in MS, Kingdom destiny)

The Mind of Christ

Hi! I can`t believe it has been over two weeks since I wrote an email update. We continue to work on this step to MS, on the way to Japan and Asia, with much prayer and excitement. Thank you for standing with us by your love, prayers, and support.

Although it is not always easy, we thank God for His faithfulness to us. I clean the church and take care of the grounds at Christ Life Church of the Highlands here. While doing this work, I continue to search for employment that will cover more of our basic needs in living. In addition, God continues to release vision as to establish more of a base for outreach to Japan and Asia from this location.

I thank God for the people He leads into our path and look forward to what God wants to develop in this place for the sake of His Kingdom. Pray that we will discern the open doors and meet the "King in the Field" with greater intimacy and fruitfulness than ever before. Thank you for partnering with us in what God has called us.

JAPAN

Just recently, we have enjoyed connecting with friends and family in Japan. While the church in Sendai, with Jeremy and Kumiko Jenkins, remains strong and we hear is doing well, Michelle`s sister, who lives in the tsunami and earthquake region, shares how they continue to get many earthquakes. They actively serve in relief work through Samaritan`s Purse, teams from Iris Ministries, and their own local outreaches. Please pray for the Sendai church, the Jenkins, Michelle`s sister and brother in law (the Sawkas) and all those involved with the relief efforts taking place in the various shelters.

Also, please pray for Michelle and I. Pray that opportunities to communicate the love of the Father God for the Japanese and people of Asia will come and we will be able to effectively fulfill the call God has placed on our lives for as long as we are here in MS and the USA.

MBY OUTREACH

Jacob has joined and performed with the Magnificat Youth Ballet at Ballet Magnificat!  This ballet group ministers the gospel through dance in Jackson, MS and the surrounding area. This past Saturday night, they performed at a local university. God really used Jake and the team to minister the love of God. Your support helps us make this possible for him. He continues to study with the NACD program and will be looking to get his GED as soon as possible. Also, Jake had to write out his testimony to join this group.  Chellie groaned not knowing if he could actually do this.  Well, we were delighted when Jake took the challenge and wrote a very clear testimony in his own words.  We hope to post that sometime for all to read.  It is a blessing to see how God is working in our kids!!

Thank you for praying and supporting Jake; by supporting us. This support allows us to do what God has called us as a family to do in this season! Thank You!

FAMILY

Samantha and Marcia have begun school. They have had quite a few opportunities to babysit; giving them a little spending money. Abigail has also joined the Ballet Magnificat school. She goes for lessons each Tuesday and Friday. Michelle has started sewing costumes again for the new ballet called Snow Queen. She also overseas all the affairs of the house and prophetically ministers to people as lead.

Your prayers and support make all this possible. Thank you!

THE MIND OF CHRIST

Recently, I thank God that we may have and function with the mind of Christ. You see, the mind of Christ is alive, single-minded in devotion to Christ, and causes you to esteem others as better than yourself. When you develop the mind of Christ, you remain pure in action, responsive to the leading of His voice, and peaceful in heart.

Paul said in the book of Romans 12:2, "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of  your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God`s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will."

The more we submit to Christ and allow His Holy Spirit to renew our mind, the more He transforms us from fear to faith, from works to grace, from selfishness to giving, from so many ways of the world, to the life and nature of Christ Himself.

Remember, God is preparing His Bride, the Church, for Her Bridegroom. (Revelation 19:7-9). In a fresh way, I pray that you will hear what the Spirit is saying, magnify the Lord and exalt His name, be transformed by the Word of God, stimulate one another to love and good deeds, and prepare for the return of Christ.

Wow!! It is time to be glad and rejoice!!! Let`s be ready and alert!! Blessings!!

PRAYER NEEDS

  •  For provision and ability to meet the basic needs of living in MS.
  •  Ministry opportunities to speak and communicate the love of the Father God and the love He has for Japan and Asia on both sides of the Pacific.
  •  Revelation as to the strategy to create a base for missions here.

Laid down lovers for Jesus!

Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors,

Hi! Thank you for your prayers and support of us at this time!

God is faithful!  He has been with us in this process of transitioning to Mississippi.  While things in the natural are still very hard and there are many adjustments to make,  we continue to press in to the Lord and His goodness.

Some things are still unsettled for us.  One area is schooling for the kids.  Thank you for your prayers as we make decisions this week for them (the girls).  Another need is for the additional employment just to cover the basics of living here.   We are looking forward to all the good things God has planned for each of us in this season.

We sincerely want to thank all of our friends and "family" at Grace Fellowship Church in Titusville, PA.  We could not have made it without your love, care and support in every practical and spiritual way in this past year!!!!  Like Paul,  we overflow with thanksgiving for you and your heart in serving us!  Our hearts are with you as you all continue on in your pursiut of the LORD personally and corporately.  We miss you all very much!

ENCOURAGING WORD

We had a brother in the Lord share with us in the past several days, and I quote, "God is in the process of strategically placing, and planting, uprooting, rebuilding, and tearing down to build again." I bear witness with this word and really feel God does not want any of us to get too comfortable right now. And, it is so exciting to see how He is positioning all of us for a new surge forward in 2012 and beyond! I pray for each of us that we will abandon ourselves to Him and lay down our everything (our dreams, our visions, our pre-conceived notions) so God can build what He desires in us. Truly, God continues to prepare us for great things in the days ahead. Yet, these great things will only birth when we become "Laid Down Lovers" of Him. May we be those lovers of Jesus in this hour. PTL!!

Lift Up Your Eyes

Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors,

Hi! Thank you for praying for us and for Samantha. Her surgery is all done. Now she is in that recovery process!! Also, I was just told that the HOUSE we had applied to rent in MS came through. PTL! I do not need to go back to MS until the 18th of August. So, now, we are all staying in OH for a few more days for Samantha`s sake. And, we are going to Titusville, PA soon. I thank God for you and your friendship and partnership with us. PTL!!

REIGN OF GRACE (AIM)

Now begins the process of setting up Reign of Grace Ministries (AIM). Our vision remains to reach out to Japan and Asia; while getting the needs of our family met in MS. Jake did very well this summer at the Ballet Magnificat summer intensive. Samantha has already applied for an after-school job in MS. Marcie is looking forward to studying again and would like to find a violin teacher soon.  Abbie has so many interests, she just keeps going and flowing.  We do need continued prayer for the kids as we transition again.

Thank you for praying and  partnering with us as we begin this new adventure on the way to Japan and Asia!!

LIFT UP YOUR EYES

I would like to encourage you to take a few minutes to read and worship with Psalms 123. Here is what it says, "I lift up my eyes to you, to you whose throne is in heaven....so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he shows us his mercy.

Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us, for we have endured..."

As you read and worship through this passage, allow the Holy Spirit to give you a new perspective on you, your family, and the situation you may be facing at this time. Truly, He is our help and He will see you through!! PTL!

JAPAN UPDATE - TANABATA

Recently, Japan celebrated Tanabata. Tanabata is a Japanese star festival. People write wishes on small pieces of paper and hang them on large colorful streamers. The most famous Tanabata festival is held in Miyagi-Ken, Sendai-city, Japan where we helped establish a church and where Jeremy and Kumiko Jenkins reside.

This year, many Japanese people hung wishes for those who suffered during the recent earthquake and tsunami. And, during the festival, Kumiko (and others) had opportunity to share the message of "life" and hope on stage at a special event.

Please pray for Jeremy and Kumiko, the church, and the work and ministry taking place there. As the seeds of the gospel continue to go into the soil, we can be in expectation of a great harvest of souls for His Kingdom in this precious nation of Japan. Thank you!

CAMBODIA
The medical mission trip is scheduled for October 2011.  We continue to seek the Lord about participating in this opportunity.

Our Movements

Hi! I thank God for this exciting adventure here in MS. We really need and appreciate your prayer covering and financial support. We continue to connect with Ballet Magnificat, build new relationships, and cast vision for missions in Japan and Asia. Thank you for standing with us!

"HOUSE-SITTING" IN MS

Recently, we all have had opportunity to "House-sit" for a family we met here in MS. The husband, and son, are currently on a short-term mission trip to India. And, the mother and daughters are visiting their home country. We are so honored that we have been able to help out in this way. And, it has been a tremendous blessing for us to stay here as we seek housing in the area.

I am reminded of David after he had led a raiding party and returned with the spoils. David said in I Samuel 30: 24, "Who will listen to what you say? The share of the man who stayed with the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle. All will share alike." We look forward to hearing of souls saved and touched by this experience in India. Let`s pray for them as they minister there.

And, please pray for us as we build relationships to create a base for mission outreach here. Thank you.

JAPAN UPDATE

Please pray for J & K Jenkins and the church in Sendai. Presently, they are hosting a relief team from Iris Ministries (Taiwan). This team ministers in the earthquake and tsunami region and are seeing good things happen. Pray that the Japanese people see God`s love in signs, wonders, and miracles. And, pray that God releases more and more of the revelation of Father`s heart to the people of this devastated region.

CAMBODIA

Recently, I caught up with Glenn Kennedy, missionaries to Japan, via phone. God blessed our time of talking, praying, and prophesying to each other. And, he shared how he will be taking a team on a medical mission to Cambodia in October. Although we still have a lot to do to get settled here in MS, I am prayerfully considering this invitation to be a part of the team. And, I plan to visit with our new friends David and Liney Chacko; who are establishing a safe house in this beautiful nation.

Please pray for us as we seek to advance the work of the Kingdom and Reign of Grace Ministries (AIM). Thank you!

HOW DOES IT ALL CONNECT?

I want to thank those of you who have made a decision to partner financially with us in the creation of this new missions thrust. If you are not a partner, would you prayerfully consider becoming a part of the team in seeing effective outreach to Asia and development of the first "Presence Place" shelter for children there. Here is our partner information below. Just let us know how we can stand with you as we join this adventure together. Thank you!

GIVING INFORMATION

We receive 100% of all gifts given. Make checks payable to Antioch International Ministries and designate on a separate piece of paper (not on the check) that your support goes to "Mark and Michelle Gulland." All gifts are tax-deductible. Blessings!

Petitions for the Poor!

Hi! We love and appreciate you all very much! Thank you for your prayers and support of us and the Reign of Grace Ministries (AIM)! We are all well here in MS. Jake is doing great at the Ballet Magnificat summer intensive. And, God continues to watch over us as we take this next step in the journey to Japan and Asia. Thank you standing with us.

JAPAN UPDATE

Just this morning, a moderate earthquake (5.5) hit the Tokyo area. Although there was no damage or danger of tsunami, I am reminded of the magnitude 9.0 earthquake and tsunami that shook the northeastern part of Japan in March. Not only did it cripple a nuclear power plant, but it also created much damage of property with nearly 23,000 people dead or missing. Let's continue to pray and remember the relief efforts being undertaken at this time.

Here is an update and post from facebook by Jeremy and Kumiko Jenkins serving with the church there:

We went to another kindergarten in Kesennuma on Monday. It was a kindergarten run by a baptist church. We talked about how much God loves them and how God is so much bigger than all the shakings and scary things they have faced. The kids really listened and received well, and we had a great time singing and dancing with them too! Afterwards, we went to the port area and worshipped and prayed for the city. A bus full of elderly people stopped as we sang worship to God.

Continue to pray for J & K and the church in Sendai. And, remember to pray for us as we seek to follow God in what He has put on our hearts to accomplish in taking this next step to MS. PTL!!

PETITIONS FOR THE POOR

In Isaiah 41: 17, it says "The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the Lord will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them." Here we read how God would again meet them, the afflicted captives in Babylon, and provide for all their need. In a similar way, these words may apply to all His people.

Indeed, in the journey God has you on, you may feel weary, faint, and thirsty at times. Yet, God promises to come and refresh and meet with you. He opens fountains and plants trees in the desert so that His people may make the whole journey through and complete the trip. He provides for what it is you really need.

This week, let`s pray that God will not only meet with and refresh the poor and needy of Asia, but let`s pray that He will meet with and refresh each of us as we journey on in Him. Blessings to you!

Arise, Arise

Hi! Thank you for standing with Michelle and I and Reign of Grace (AIM)! This week has proven to be another exciting one here in MS. God has been revealing His Word to us on how to walk in wisdom, understand how life and death are in the power of the tongue, and how to be patient in allowing God to set His boundaries to position us in this next season.

SPECIAL THANKS

I want to say a special "Thank you" to those who are partnering with us financially in this transition to MS on the journey to Asia. With the help of the Holy Spirit, and your partnership, I may have confidence to believe that He who has begun a good work will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Phil. 1:6) Thank you!

PRAY FOR CAMBODIA

This week, God connected us with a gentlemen and his family living in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. They are currently working to create a "safe house" for poor and needy kids in a location about four hours from the capital P.P. In Psalms 12: 5 it says, "Because of the oppression of the weak and the groaning of the needy, I will now arise," says the Lord. `I will protect them from those who malign them.`"

God`s heart cries out in love and protection for the oppressed, poor, and needy. He says in this scripture, He will arise. As believers, we become Jesus` hands and feet. The church is the Body of Christ. So, when we arise, as Christ is the head, He raises us up to advance His Kingdom on the earth.

Pray for this family and the ongoing work they do. And, pray for Michelle and I with Reign of Grace (AIM) that we will be used of God to communicate His heart of love for Japan and Asia in this next step to MS. On this journey back to Asia, may God reveal His heart more and more to all of us!! PTL!

PRAYER NEEDS

1. Pray for Michelle and I. Pray the provision (housing, etc) in MS to come forth and all the details to quickly come together.
2. Pray for the "Open Door" to be revealed that unlocks the destiny in this place.
3. Pray for the "supply" God has for this ministry to develop further. (Phil. 4:19)
4. Pray for Jake at Ballet Magnificat. It is hard to believe he is about half way through the summer one month program.
5. Pray for Samantha, Marcia, and Abigail.

Praying for Others!

Hi! Michelle and I arrived in Ohio; Michelle`s parents house. All is well! Thank you for your prayers and support of us and the ministry at this time. We came back from MS to attend my brother Chuck`s wedding and to pick up Abigail. As many of you know, she has been staying with the Taylors while we took Jake to Ballet Magnificat and the girls to summer church youth camp in MS. We will be leaving for MS again on Sunday.

These days have proven very exciting for us. I thank God for His faithfulness and your connection with us as we make this transition. PTL!

SPEAK TO GOD ON BEHALF OF ANOTHER

In the book of Job 42:10, it says "After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had before."

This past week proved very full for us. From checking out a school for the kids to searching for housing and meeting up with many wonderful people, we found ourselves on the go. Yet, in the midst of this kind of intensity, God lead us, on several occasions, to pray for someone else. When we obeyed God`s leading and prayed, it allowed God opportunity to supernaturally work in the lives of others.

In these uncertain, busy, challenging days we live in, I want to encourage you to be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit and get involved in the lives of others. Do you remember Joseph? While in prison, he interpreted dreams for others. And when he did, God released him from prison to the palace. In the verse above, Job, when in the midst of the worst crisis he had ever faced, prayed for his friends, God reversed the curse and led him out of his situation.

In the midst of our daily routines, may God give us eyes to see in a new way and release the Glory of God into the lives of others. PTL!

PRAYER NEEDS

1. PTL for the gift of a CAR to our ministry!!!  It is the cutest car ever!!!  1997 VW Convertible!!!  It was a gift to us from a very sweet couple in MS who have a heart for orphans and missions!!!  We are delighted....Michelle has claimed it as hers!!!  She says she looks good in it and loves the standard drive!!! :)
2.  Please pray for breakthrough in provision, housing, kids schooling, friends, etc.
3. Jake and his time at the Ballet Magnificat summer intensive ( spiritual growth and increased dance techniques)  PTL... Jake was again chosen for the Pre-Professional Level.               He is one of about 20 dancers chosen from 350 or so students.  He is most excited about the story line which we have only heard in part so far.  We have heard that the camp over all has been exceptional this year with many dancers asking for prayer for personal needs and really wanting to get closer to God.  Michelle will begin sewing costumes for BM in ernest next week starting on Tuesday.  It is a joy to be involved with such a great program.
4. Safe journey back to MS on Sunday July 3rd.
5. Divine Appointments
