REACHING OUT!

Hi! Did you have a good Easter weekend? I think our hearts join with the Apostle Paul when he said in the book of Philippians, "I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection ...." I pray that your Easter season was full of love and joy. And, I ask God that you will experience a "Break Out" with new dreams from God, increased revelation, and resurrection power.

JAPAN- CHILDREN`S DAY

This week starts the national Holiday called "Golden Week" in Japan. Golden week remains one of the largest vacation periods for many Japanese. On May 5th, during Golden Week, the Japanese will celebrate Children`s Day. It has been a day of celebration in Japan since ancient times. On this day, many families fly huge carp-shaped streamers outside their houses and display dolls of famous warriors inside. The flying of the carp symbolizes strength and success and expresses the hope of every Japanese for their children to grow up strong and successful.

I share this information with you to know how to pray for Japan; especially the children. Let`s pray for the children of Japan that they may discover true strength and experience the success found in the One True God; Jesus Christ.

In addition, Japanese celebrate this day by doing the following:

  • Take baths with iris leaves and roots. (for good health and to ward off evil)
  • Eat rice cakes wrapped in oak leaves with sweet bean paste (kashiwamochi)
  • Participate in a "Kids` Olympics" in many stadiums around the country
Let`s pray for new breakthroughs in Japan as they celebrate this Holiday season there.

LET THEM PRAISE HIS NAME WITH DANCING - PSALMS 149:3 - Ballet Magnificat - Jacob

I want to thank you for your continued prayers for Jacob. He is preparing for the summer intensive course at Ballet Magnificat in Jackson, MS. This intensive course brings excitement and purpose every summer for him. The training not only focuses on the technical aspects of dancing, but also the spiritual development needed to be used of God in this way. Through his involvement, Jake has opportunity to seek God and direction for his life and future.

Last year, Jake entered the pre-professional level. This level offers a unique training and experience helpful to him. Here are some of the aspects of this program:

  • It`s for four week students only
  • It involves a focused practice every day with professional teachers in various technical styles
  • It offers an unforgettable experience of a professional by working like and with a professional company. Jake has gotten to know many of these individuals
  • At the end of the intensive course, the group takes a local tour and puts on a performance of original creation
Philippians 4:6 says to "...... let your requests be made known to God." Would you pray with us as we believe for Jake to participate this summer?  He is in need of support of about $1,700.00 . I know the fruit of the harvest on your seed to this summer program for Jake will be great. To become a supporter for his trip, just send your gift to the AIM ministries below. Be sure to designate that your support goes to "Jacob Gulland" on a piece of paper, and we will be sure it goes for this experience. Thank you!!

PRAYER UPDATE FOR THE GULLANDS

1. As you partner with us in prayer, I feel the need to consider taking a trip to Japan this summer. In doing so, I would have a desire to connect with friends and family there, help in any relief efforts going on, and look after our things being stored at the missionary place in the area of the earthquake and tsunami. Whether I would travel myself, or take the whole family, I do not know yet. Of course, the whole family wants to, and really needs to, go with me for the sake of keeping in touch with Japan. So, please pray for us regarding this issue.

2. Also, please pray for Samantha. After completing her 10th grade here in the States, she would like to return to Faith Academy in Manila, Philippines to complete her 11th grade and finish her 12th and graduate with her friends there. Meanwhile, in contacting with the school, they have expressed their interest in Samantha returning and would love to have her come.

Of course, as she prayerfully considers this opportunity, she knows she would have to have a sponsor, or two, to help with the tuition, room, and board. Dad and Mom, us, would do everything we can in helping her as we continue to get the educational needs of the other kids met in the USA and take short-term trips to Japan and SE Asia over the next year.

So, as partners, please pray for this on behalf of Samantha. And, if you would like to be a sponsor, let us know ASAP, and we will let you know how to further get involved with this need. Her school at Faith Academy begins in August, so, let`s pray and lift this request before God. I think you can feel my heart as I really want to make this a reality for her. And, we know God is able.... Thank you!

3. Finally, pray for our AIM missions work with "Reign of Grace" ministries. This new name for the ministry of Mark and Michelle, us, appears to be sticking. And, we thank you for your involvement with my family and I in the calling He has given us for Japan and Asia. Pray for more supporters and a partner team to be raised up for His Kingdom purpose in this hour.

Thank you!

FINANCIAL INVOLVEMENT

Love and blessings to you! Thank you for your involvement.

We feel we need to remind you that while we are in the States. We are still in need of monthly support. Our home church has been extremely gracious in providing us with housing and some income as Associate Pastor while we are here in Titusville. We have seen a decrease in monthly support. As we look to this next season, we look to the Lord for provision to fulfill vision.

We receive 100% of all gifts given. Make checks payable to Antioch International Ministries and designate on a separate piece of paper (not on the check) that your gift goes to "Mark and Michelle Gulland". All gifts are tax-deductible. Thank you for your support.

God is so good!

Hi! Blessings to you! God is soooooo Good! He loves to give good gifts to His children. May we all know His presence and walk in the revelation of His Father`s heart in a new way in the days ahead. I pray we all cross over into a new level of deliverance in our daily faith walk with Christ as we celebrate this Easter holiday. HAPPY EASTER!!

JAPAN UPDATE - RELIEF TEAM

God is in the midst of Japan!! I thank God for each of you who gave to the "Japan Relief Fund". The Iris Relief second response team arrived in Japan. Jeremy and Kumiko Jenkins, leaders of the Sendai Church, will be hosting this team for the next two weeks. Your gifts given will help free them up to do what they need to do. May God bless this effort as we continue to lift up the whole nation of Japan in prayer.

DO PEOPLE IN JAPAN CELEBRATE EASTER?

For those in Japan who have come to faith in God through Jesus Christ, the Easter season becomes a special time to celebrate His resurrection power. Yet, for the vast majority of Japanese people, they do not know the real meaning of this holiday and have little or no knowledge of Jesus Christ. Pray that Jesus will be exalted more in Japan and that this nation will come to know the real reason for the season.

PRAYER

Your prayers are making a difference! I believe God`s releasing new revelation and preparing us spiritually for the next steps. The prayer of agreement remains key for us at this time. In Matthew 18:19, it says "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven." As we partner together in prayer, I know our Father in heaven will release His power in new ways. Here are some ways to pray for us:

  • Pray we may be able to clearly communicate the heart of God for the Japanese to the Church here in the USA
  • Pray for the relief workers and ministries in Japan; especially the Iris team with the Jenkins
  • Pray for the Japanese people and the healing of trauma from the recent events

Pray - an update from Mark and Michelle Gulland - April 14th

HI! I thank God for your faithfulness to us! Michelle and I love and appreciate you very much.

THE MONTH "KINGS" GO TO WAR - THE GULLAND FAMILY

As we start spring, we are expecting God to show us paths and new strategies needed for the days ahead. Throughout this Easter time, I find myself desiring to come into a deeper revelation of Jesus and the meaning of the cross and resurrection. As many of you remember, about one year ago, my family and I came back from Japan and literally "passed over" into a new season of ministry. I thank God for the many ways in which He has blessed us over this past year, and look forward to the many ways he will lead us going forward. We are believing God for GREATER INTIMACY with Him, and a NEW STRATEGY for moving into our destiny in reaching out to Japan and the nations of Asia.

When you look at the kings of the Old Testament, we can see where spring remained the time when kings went off to war. I believe God wants to expand all of us for Kingdom purposes. And, I declare new plans and new beginnings coming forth. This declaration requires much in the way of warfare prayer and intercession. Michelle and I need to ask for you prayers for us and family. As you cover us in prayer, there will be new revelation and spiritual preparation, so that the next steps in God`s process for us, Japan, and missions will come about. Thank you.

PRAY, PRAY, PRAY

I am so excited as to how God might connect us for this "new day" in Japan and throughout Asia. Pray that God releases good revelation, new insights, and specific projects to more clearly communicate the heart of God to and for the Japanese and people of Asia; on both sides of the Pacific. God is stirring me to pursue Him and would invite you to email us and let us know you are praying, with us, for His will to come forth in a greater way in our lives.

THANK YOU

Also, I ask you to cover all of Japan with prayer. Let`s pray and declare "awakening" to the whole of the nation. Here are some ways you can more specifically pray. These ways come from Apostle Ron Sawka (my brother in law, living in Japan). Feel free to check out his website at arise5.com

1. TRAUMA. Through your prayers, I know God can heal individuals, and the whole nation, from trauma and its affects.
2. NEW UNDERSTANDING. Pray for the Japanese to understand the times and seasons and that the whole nation would "awake" to the Only One True God. Pray for restoration in all areas. (physical, spiritual, economic, etc.)
3. INTERCESSORS. Pray that God raises up intercessors, from outside Japan, that will weekly or monthly pray for this nation.

Email and let us know you are praying for JAPAN.

For all of you who have given toward the Sendai Church with Jeremy and Kumiko Jenkins, thank you. You are so awesome!! Let`s continue to pray and make declarations!

PARTNERSHIP

In addition to what we can do to meet our financial needs while living in the USA, we need, and are believing God for, those who would join us in sowing seed and giving missions support. If you feel God leading you to partner with us in this way, we are truly grateful. A gift of any amount makes a significant difference in moving forward in what God is leading us to do. Thank you for your consideration.

Love and Appreciation from Mark and Michelle Gulland - and update- April 7th

Hi! We truly appreciate your partnership with us. You are helping us communicate God`s heart of love for the Japanese and Asian people and helping stir us to action in bringing expansion to ministry, on both sides of the Pacific, for the Kingdom of God. Thank you so much.

JAPAN

Our friends Jeremy and Kumiko Jenkins shared how they took a relief team and visited a shelter. As they talked to the 20 kids there, they reported how everyone of them received Jesus and got saved. Jeremy says they, "have never seen anything like it." Being that it was a government run shelter, they were surprised at the freedom and power of God`s awesome presence. They, along with the relief team, will be going again on Friday and doing a concert for the adults. Let`s pray God moves mightily in their midst.

Remember, if you would like to make a special donation to help with the effort, please feel free to refer to Grace Fellowship Church of Titusville at gfctitusville@gmail.com to get all the details. Thanks!

MISSISSIPPI

God truly blessed us with a wonderful opportunity to travel to Mississippi again (March 28 to April 3) to connect with friends and be there for the annual Ballet Magnificat performances. Jake not only got to attend all the performances, he also had a chance to practice with the Alpha company and help with the set up and tear down before and after. He looks forward to participating in the summer intensive program this summer. Please pray for him as he prepares. The weather did not disappoint; very spring-like. And, God gave us an opportunity to share about Japan at the Wednesday night service there. Thank you for praying for us.

p.s. Jake will be needing  support for his trip again this summer. Would you prayerfully consider making a special gift to help make this possible? Thanks!

BY FAITH

God shared in His Word that ".. without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." One man who sought after God was Peter. When Jesus came walking on the water, Peter said, "Lord, if it`s you, tell me to come to you on the water." After Jesus tells him to come, Peter gets out of the boat, walks on the water, and comes toward Jesus. Wow! You know, when you think about it, he expected a miracle; and got it. Someone once said that expectation is acting in the direction as if the miracle has already happened. So, if we are to increase faith, we need to organize, plan, talk about, and believe for the expected miracle.

Well, as with many of us, Peter, when he sees the wind, becomes afraid,  and begins to sink. At that time, he cries out to God, "Lord, save me!" Immediately, Jesus reaches out his hand, catches him, and climbs into the boat with Peter. I thank God that even when we doubt like Peter, if we cry out to Him, He will reach out His hand, catch us, and climb in the boat with us. Through this experience, Peter came to truly gain a revelation of Jesus as the Son of God; the One who calms the storms.

No matter where God commands us to "go" or "come", God promises to be with us. Even in the midst of a storm (difficult situations), God will be our ever present help in time of need. Let`s reach for Him in a new way this week and expect a miracle. Thank you for praying for us.
