Samantha`s longstanding dream

Bio of Samantha Gulland
Samantha was born in Japan on January 8, 1994.  She attended Japanese schools until 7th grade.  For junior high school,  she attended Sano International School.  Her 9th grade year was a highlight as she attended Faith Academy in the Philippines.  She attended Titusville High School in Pennsylvania for 10th grade and then completed high school in Mississippi through Keystone Online School in September of 2012.  All through her school years she excelled in art and music.

She took part in the worship and leadership teams where ever she has lived.  Samantha has worked at the Mississippi Japanese Supplementary School as a Japanese school teacher for the past two years.  She has also been working as a receptionist/secretary at Spectacles for a wonderful eye doctor.  She has been on the leadership team for Fuse Box at ChristLife Highlands Church, leading a small group of young ladies, and has been a member of the worship team there.  Her desire is to sing and lead worship.

Attending Hillsong has been a longstanding dream.  It is our desire to see God's glory shine through Sam and it really does when she sings!  We covet your prayers for her as she steps out in faith on this new adventure.

On Samantha's behalf, we would like to post some of her prayer needs.
Please pray for her as she sets out on a new adventure to Hillsong in Australia.  School begins January 28th, 2014.  She will be heading out mid January. She will be taking the worship leading course with a vocal emphasis.

These are her needs:
  • airline tickets--approximately $2400.00
  • a bed--$150.00
  • books--$200.00
  • a laptop--$1000.00 (would be happy for a good used one)
  • luggage--$140.00
  • unlocked cell phone to use in AU
  • second semester tuition-- $2500.00
  • a good part time job while in AU to help cover monthly rent and living expenses
  • ease in adjusting to a new country and school life
  • God's favor and anointing over all!!!

We so much appreciate you all.  We are very excited at the leading of the Lord for Samantha.
We feel that it is because of all of your prayers for us all over the years that God has work in Sam to get her to this point!  She has really done well here in Mississippi and is looking forward to a really great time of training in Australia.  Praise the LORD!!!

If you would like to give towards her time in AU,  here is how you can give....

Thank You!

Dear Partner,

Thank you for standing with us! We love representing you here in MS. Your prayer and partnership mean so much to us.

An Update

Michelle and kids had a wonderful time with Japanese friend Chie  and her two children Risa and Rina. They participate in the Japanese Supplemental School of Mississippi and have become friends. Through making banana bread, playing with playdo, and just talking, Michelle (kids) had opportunity to share her faith and enjoy a nice afternoon.

In the meantime, a new group helpers from Japan arrived and started important activities and improvements at the Canton Plant here in MS. Although I continue to learn many new automotive related words in Japanese, sometimes I find myself quite challenged in my work in translation. I really enjoy connecting with Japanese and have a confidence in God that He has placed me in this organization for "such a time as this". Please pray as we reach out in unique ways to the Japanese here in MS.

Ballet Magnificat

Thank you all for your prayers for Michelle, Jacob, and Abigail as they ministered in Birmingham, AL. The endeavor of moving a whole cast of dancers to a new city and putting on a major performance proved quite a challenge. Yet, God richly blessed their time there and the performance went off without a hitch.
Please pray for us and the ministry of Ballet Magnificat. Pray that God will bless and increase the anointing in greater and greater ways.

Hillsong International Leadership College - Samantha Update!

Samantha, one of our special four, appreciates your prayers as she prepares to go to Sydney, Australia. She is very much feeling the excitement (nervousness) of what it means to travel to another country for an extended stay.

She needs to make a special trip to Atlanta, GA. In order to get a proper medical clearance for VISA to Australia, she must make this trip. Please pray for her trip and for things to smoothly for getting qualifications.

Believing For:

  • Trip to Atlanta. Medical appt. ($400 app.)
  • Airline Tickets: ($1500 app.)
  • Second half of yearly tuition (due in June/July 2014)
  • Initial In-country costs to get established (rent, utilities, etc.,) *Hillsong helping with coordination

This trip to Atlanta came unexpectedly. She can only go to certain clinics to get her clearance and this clinic was one of the closest. We are thankful she got an appointment so quickly and look forward to this new adventure.

If you would like to give toward this need, just designate that your gift goes to Samantha, and we will be sure to pass it along.

Partnership

Please prayerfully consider the partnership information below.

Thank You!
Sincerely,
Mark Gulland (Michelle)

An Update!

Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors,

John 17: 23
"I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that you have sent me, and have loved them as You have loved Me."

Jesus prays for all believers. In this prayer, we may know the Father God`s heart in a deeper way. Here are some nuggets to meditate on:

  • God loves us in the same way He loves His Son Jesus.
  • God sees you through the eyes of the finished work of the cross.
  • Nothing we can do can cause  God to love us more.
  • Nothing we can do to cause Him to love us any less.
With child-like faith, let`s receive a deeper revelation of God`s love through faith in Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit.

FAMILY UPDATE

God has blessed us in so many ways. I thank Him for the continued opportunity to work in translation at Nissan, to be with Japanese people in marketplace ministry, and to use this language skill. Meanwhile, Michelle works part-time cleaning the local church we attend here in MS. She also overseas the education of the children and sews at Ballet Magnificat.

This season has proven to be challenging, very busy, and in need of much endurance. Yet, we experience His mercy and goodness each day. Please pray as we seek to be faithful and receive all He has for us at this time.

PRAYER REQUESTED

1. Ballet Magnificat- Birmingham, Alabama - October 11-13. Please pray for Michelle,         Jacob, and Abigail as they travel with a team to perform "Snow Queen"in this great city.

2. Hillsong International Leadership College- January 2014. Pray for all of us as we send Samantha to Sydney, Australia for a year of ministry training in worship leading.

Here is the latest:

God has provided for:
a. The first half of her yearly tuition.
b. Health-care coverage. (for the whole year in Aussy land)
c. Her Visa

Believing for:
a. Airline Tickets
b. The second half of yearly tuition (due in June/July)
c. Initial In-country costs to get established (rent, utilities, etc.,) * Hillsong helping with coordination

It is a NEW day! Prophetic Word Michelle Gulland

The Gifts and the Call of God

Greetings in the name of the Lord! As we celebrate and bring in the new year at Rosh Hashanah. God continues to establish us further in the inheritance given to us. He imparts fresh vision to see and gain insight to activate us in the next steps ahead.

And, in moving forward in the days ahead, it remains important to gain fresh understanding concerning the gifts of God and the call of God on your life.

In Romans 11:29, it says, " For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable."

I am reminded of the time in my life when I sensed God`s call to minister. While God has led through the various times and seasons of life, I still know the calling of God to minister in His Kingdom.

In the last years, God has moved mightily in our lives to bring rest, restoration, and fresh vision. These moments in Mississippi have truly proved an opportunity to step back from the rigors of ministry and find rest and healing in His presence. What an amazing season God has been with us in!

And, as we begin this new Hebraic year at Rosh Hashanah, we feel the Lord saying that He has restored and brought a wonderful family season in our lives.

In Acts 15, we read about Paul and the great Macedonian Call. In verses 9-10 of Chapter 15, it says

"And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying `Come over to Macedonia and help us. Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them."

Just as Paul and Silas moved out to fulfill the call of God on their lives, the Lord is once again sounding the call on our lives to minister the Kingdom. God has called us to the nations, especially Asia and Japan, and has gifted us to operate in Teaching and Prophecy.

As God leads, we look to hear His voice and go where He sends. If you sense God`s leading to have us  to come, we are able, willing, and available.

We look forward to reaching out in the presence of God.

The Fear of God

Matthew 10: 26-31
"So do not be afraid of them. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don`t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."

Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors,

Hi! As I write to you, we have had some pretty extreme heat here in Mississippi! Thank you for your prayers and support as we move forward in Him at this time!

What an amazing summer it has been!

Samantha participated in the "Big Stuff" youth camp in Panama City, FL. She served as a counsellor and really enjoyed the white sands on the Gulf of Mexico. She continues to work as an Office Administrator at Dr. Patton`s office and looks forward to her next step in her walk and relationship with God.

Not only that, Jacob and Abigail joined Ballet Magnificat for the 2013 Summer Dance Intensive. This workshop allowed them to increase their technical ability and, more importantly, increase their spiritual training. We want to thank everyone who helped make this opportunity a reality. PTL!

Meanwhile, Marcia is having a great time in Cincinnati, Ohio visiting her cousins and hanging out with Maiya (a girl from Japan who is doing a home-stay at Michelle`s sister`s house). She is enjoying Kings Island, swimming in the neighbors pool, making chocolate cookies, eating Japanese snacks, and just having lots of fun!

Plus, I had an awesome time at Erie Grace International and Grace Fellowship Church of Titusville, PA. God moved mightily among us! Not only did God do amazing things, but He also allowed me to build relationships and cherish some quality time with my parents.

What an adventure this summer has been! I am so blessed! PTL!!

MISSISSIPPI

I just think it is so incredible how I can reside in MS with the family and connect with Japan and Japanese people for Kingdom purposes! Thank you for standing with us through a remarkable season we find ourselves in.

PRAYER

  • Pray for further opportunities to extend the Kingdom here in MS; especially with the Japanese!
  • Pray for the kids as they start back to school!
  • Pray for us that His beauty be known and His glory be seen to the nations!

His Prized Possession

James 1:16-18

"So don`t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shadow. He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession."

Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors,

Greetings from Mississippi! As summer approaches, I am reminded of the intense heat and the high humidity of the south. Thank you for your prayers and support as we look to Him in this place.

FAMILY UPDATE

God is faithful! He has given many opportunities to reach out to the people right here. Through working in Japanese translation at Nissan, God has opened doors to meet new people and make new friends.

Last Sunday, we all had good fun with five friends from Japan working temporarily at Nissan. We attended morning Church service together and enjoyed eating good American hamburgers at the local Five Guys Restaurant.

Pastor David Hale, of Christlife Church of the Highlands, (the local church we attend) shared on the story of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15. Michelle and I sat behind our friends and translated the Gospel into Japanese.

What a powerful Gospel and a Great God we serve. This message transcends all language and culture and speaks to the heart and soul of all people.

He truly is the hope of all mankind!

BALLET MAGNIFICAT - SUMMER INTENSIVE

Abigail have been given opportunity to attend this year`s summer intensive. Abigail has done all she can to raise support for this intensive, but is still in need of finances for  room and board. As God places it in your heart to sow a seed to her for this opportunity, please make your checks out to "Antioch International Ministries" and designate that your gift goes to Abby. Checks can be mailed to 246 Cowden Road, New Wilmington, PA 16142. Or, if you do not need tax-exemption, feel free to send your check to 209 Glenwood Drive, Madison, MS 39110.

Our dream of raising up our children to go to the nations is being realized. Thank you!

Meanwhile, pray for Jake as he looks to the trainee program starting in the fall!

APPRECIATION

We can`t say enough how much we love and appreciate you. We love sharing the love of Jesus and representing the Kingdom in this place. Thank you so much for your ongoing prayers and financial support. As you obey His leading in sowing your seed this month, I know God has a harvest in store for you. What you make happen for others, God will make happen for you. (Galatians 6:10)

God bless you and look forward to hearing from you soon!

Blessings,

UPDATE

Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors,

All Wisdom, all honor, all glory, and all power to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He Reigns!

Worship is the key that releases glory.... Open up you ancient doors! Open up you ancient gates! The King is at the door. The key is turning. He came to save us and the whole world. He is love! May God`s presence be ever strong in your everyday faith walk with Him!

FAMILY UPDATE

These days remain filled with much activity. Michelle has been active making a mess of costumes for Ballet Magnificat. And, speaking of Ballet Magnificat, Abigail has a ballet recital on Friday this week. She continues to amaze us all with her love for God and skill development with dance.

Meanwhile, Marcia had a violin recital last weekend. She received high compliments from those who attended. And, Michelle read us all a text from Marcia`s teacher saying how well she had played. We thank God for Marcia and her hard work on the violin.

Samantha, Jacob, and I are well. We all want to say how much we appreciate your prayer and support as we continue to seek His will and ways to be established in us.

PRAYER NEEDS

Your prayer and involvement remains so crucial for us at this time. Here are some ways to pray and stand with us:

1. Summer Intensive. Pray for Abigail as she plans to attend this year`s summer intensive with Ballet Magnificat from June 29 to July 27! Here is what BM had to say about this gathering:

"Ballet Magnificat! Summer Dance Intensive annually attracts hundreds of students from around the world. Rated as “one of the best and yet most affordable”, this high level workshop is comprised of intense technical and spiritual training, conducted by the artists of Ballet Magnificat!'s professional touring companies and staff who guide the young dancers to develop their potential and seek God's direction for their lives."

Please pray for all her support needs to be met. If you would like to give toward her trip to the summer intensive, we would be grateful. Thank you for your consideration of this opportunity to sow.

2. Jacob. Please pray for Jacob as he has been accepted into the trainee program starting in the fall.
3. Please pray for all of us!

PARTNERSHIP

Your partnership makes a real difference for us here in Mississippi! We invite you to partner with us as we seek to know and make Him known. Thank you for your consideration.

Arise with fresh faith!

Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors,

Just another blog to say hi! God is so good! In this time of the Kingdom, I know God wants to bring expansion and abundance! However, many of you, including Michelle and I, have experienced a high level of anxiety and a feeling of like not being able to breathe. It`s like a spiritual suffocation has tried to put its grip on you.

Remember, the devil`s work remains to steal vision and get you to waste time focusing on things not connected to divine purpose.

Here`s a word to help: Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. It is written in His word that we have authority to cast out demons in His name and speak in new languages.

I pray God breathes on you in a fresh new way. Just breathe in the Spirit and presence and let the enemy be defeated. Then, rise up with fresh faith and walk forward; sowing seed that produces fruit for harvest.

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

We are so blessed to connected with you in Kingdom purpose here in MS. Recently, we celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary! We went to Florida for a few days. God spoke fresh vision into our hearts for this season.

OUTREACH

Last Sunday, I had a great time with two Japanese I met while working in translation at the local Nissan Manufacturing plant. They attended church with us and we spent a really nice afternoon. Not only that, God continues to use Samantha at the Saturday Japanese school. Abigail and Marcia attend the school and we all can still speak Japanese. In fact, God really has given us many opportunities to reach out to Japanese people while living in MS.

Meanwhile, Michelle stays active with her help at Ballet Magnificat. Jacob, although taking a break right now, and Abigail continue to learn the dance. Abigail asked last night if she could attend the summer intensive. She will need support. Please pray that all the financial needs for this opportunity come in.

Thank you for your continual partnership with us. See below for details.

Sincerely,
Mark (Michelle)

Look What God Has Done!

Psalms 40: 1-3 "I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord."

Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors,

How are you? We are so thankful to be in partnership with you. We love representing you with the Father`s love.

You know, God loves to do for us what we can`t do for ourselves. I believe this remains a time of expansion and abundance. And I declare that God is going to "open" what has been "closed". The riches of heaven are being released in a fresh new way!

UPDATE

God has given me many opportunities to share God`s love while spending time with Japanese in doing translation.

Just last week, while working with a Japanese businessman, I asked if there were any churches in the area where he lives in Japan. "There are no churches" he said. At that moment, I realized, once again, that he (most Japanese) have little or no knowledge of Jesus Christ and the Christian faith.

I told him about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ! Please pray for me (us here in MS) as we share His love. Also, pray for Japan!

BALLET MAGNIFICAT

Michelle, Jacob, and Abigail connect with this ministry. What an awesome way to reflect the Glory of God through the dance. The summer intensive begins June 29th and goes through July 27th. Abigail really wants to go. She will need support to attend. We invite you to support her this summer.  Feel free to contact Michelle concerning any details about this time.

PARTNERSHIP

Your partnership makes a real difference for us here in Mississippi! We invite you to partner with us as we seek to know and make Him known. Thank you for your consideration.

Recovery!

Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors,

Michelle and I, with the kids, are so excited to share the news in this new update! From the cross of Christ flows a great power and strength. God invites you to join in the great celebration and joy of His  resurrection grace! PTL!

You know, 2013 is to be a year of recovery! Recovery involves getting back what was lost and prospering in the now season. Whether it involves recovery of authority, relationships, finances, etc., God, through Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, continues to lead us in recovery and advancement in our lives and for His Kingdom.

You see, Reconciliation brings joy! Have you ever found yourself living in the past? Or, perhaps you find yourself living in the future. Yet, what God wants to do is to give us revelation and recognition of the times and seasons and to teach us to live in the joy of His love now.

Not only that, It is a time of the fulfillment of prophetic words. And, God wants to release His voice to be heard again in this hour.

May God`s voice be released in a fresh way in this season!

Ballet Magnificat (Jake and Abigail) - Summer Intensive

I`m telling you, the summer intensive is a big deal! Jake and Abigail will need a lot of prayer to attend this years event. You know, God always does amazing things! They will need help financially in order to go. I would like to invite you to help support them to go to this summer intensive in June/July.  This always proves to be a special time spiritually as well as in the dance.  So your prayers are also needed to make this possible.

Japanese School in Jackson, MS

The school year ends in March. Abigail will be graduating from the Japanese 6th grade level. And, Marcia will be graduating from the Jr. High School (9th grade) Japanese level. We are so proud of them and ask your continued prayer as they begin the new school year in April. Also, please pray for Samantha as she serves as a teacher for 1st to 3rd grade at the school.

A Local Japanese Company

I need prayer. It has been about a year and a half since moving to Madison, MS. We have gotten to know many Japanese in the area. However, because of the local Nissan company, I have been given an amazing opportunity to spend time in translation work. Not only is this an amazing opportunity to freshen up on my Japanese, but also it has given opportunity to reach out and touch lives of Japanese people; especially those here temporarily separated from their families. Already God has given many opportunities to share His love with these men.

This is what is happening now and am hoping for the job to continue. Please pray as I work in this way.

Meanwhile, Michelle continues to sew and help out at Ballet Magnificat. She also continues to be stirred in the prophetic and prays for many.  Lately,  she has also enjoyed working with the Wee-Life at Christ Life Church.  This is the Sunday school kids ages 3-5.  It is great to connect with these little believers.

Your Partnership

Thank you for standing with us! Your prayer and financial support for us remains so needed and appreciated at this time. I believe we are good soil in which to sow seed for the Kingdom!

If you would like to make a one-time gift or a monthly gift, please make out checks to "Antioch International Ministries" and designate, on a separate piece of paper, not on the check, that your gift is for "Mark and Michelle Gulland". NEW YEAR - 2013

Having begun a New Year, we are so excited for what God wants to accomplish in and through us in 2013. We cannot say enough how thankful we are for you being a part of us as we touch the nations from Mississippi. Truly you are a gift to us.

Here`s what is happening:

JAPANESE SCHOOL IN JACKSON

Samantha, Marcia, and Abigail will be returning to the Saturday Japanese school after a holiday break. Samantha will continue to teach. While Marcia and Abigail attend there. The Japanese school year ends in March and begins in April.

So, pray Marcia and Abigail may finish the year of study well. And, pray for Samantha, that she may teach well too.

Your prayers and support allow us to connect with the Japanese community in Jackson in this way. Thank You!

BALLET MAGNIFICAT – JACKSON

This dance school and ministry will open again after a great holiday season of reaching out. Abigail has shown good progress in her technique. And, Jacob will be trying out for the post-high school training program this month. Please pray for him as we take this next step. He continues to work hard on his NACD program with a goal to getting a GED. Anyway, we are proud of him and look to see God`s heart instilled in him for Kingdom purpose.

Again, your prayers and support of this ministry are greatly appreciated and needed. Please pray about your commitment to partnership with him, and us, as we move forward in 2013.

THE NEW YEAR

January remains an important time in the course of a year. Many believers use this month to pray, fast, and seek God for strategy for the coming year or more.

As for Michelle and I, we have been lead to start the year off with making declarations. In Proverbs 18:21 it says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” As we speak words of life into our children, ministry here in MS, and the nations, God promises a fruitful harvest.

Another challenge we have received involves that of praying big prayers. As many of you, it remains so easy for us to focus on immediate life issues and needs. These needs are real and necessary. Yet, God invites us to ask, seek, and knock believing that He can do the impossible. Psalms 2:8 says, “Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.”

Wow! Now, I see that as a big prayer! Yet, our God is so big, so strong and so mighty there is nothing our God cannot do. Thank you for partnering with us this year. We look forward to the best days yet ahead.

YOUR INVOLVEMENT

Your partnership with us truly makes all the difference in the world. By partnering with us, you enable us to do the following:

Ø    Attend Japanese School in Jackson
Ø    Participate in Ballet Magnificat
Ø    Support Jacob with the NACD program etc.
Ø    Take mission trips abroad

If you already partner with us, we thank you. If you do not, would you consider becoming a partner at this time? A gift of any amount, each month, makes a real difference and allows us to fulfill the vision God has placed in our heart for this season.

Thank you and look forward to connecting with you.
