Outreach

Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors,

Thank you so much for your thoughts, prayers, and support of us!

"Do not deprive the alien or the fatherless of justice, or take the cloak of the widow as a pledge. Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and the Lord your God redeemed you from there. That is why I command you to do this." Deuteronomy 24: 17,18

MISSISSIPPI- USA

Although we continue to make many adjustments to Mississippi, God remains faithful. Our son Jacob has connected with the Ballet Magnificat ministry in Jackson. And, in order to cover his involvement, Michelle also serves in this ministry by sewing costumes for the ballet dancers. We thank God for the opportunity to connect with this ministry. Feel free to look up Ballet Magnificat on the internet to see how God uses this work to touch many lives for the sake of the Kingdom of God.

FAMILY

Meanwhile, we are all doing well as a family. While I continue to help out with the cleaning at CLH and prepare for a mission trip (see below), Michelle works with Jacob`s NACD school program. She also assists with the girls school studies as well. I can`t believe Samantha has become a senior. We are so proud of her. Marcia has entered the ninth grade and is doing well. And, Abigail is in the fifth grade. Please pray for us as we continue to make this step to MS on the way to Japan and Asia.

CAMBODIA

I wanted to write and share with you that, in October, I will be going to Cambodia on a medical mission with friends and contacts from Japan. I had been invited on this trip for a long time, but with all the adjustments to MS, I did not think I could participate. Then, out of the blue, God provided a couple of special gifts to cover my ticket. So, after praying and talking it over with Michelle, I felt a peace in my spirit to go. Although I still need some finances for the "extra`s" that go with taking this kind of trip, I thank God for His perfect timing.

I will leave on the 8th of October for the capital city Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Then, I will join a team of doctors, dentists, and believers from Okinawa, Japan and the USA. We will travel to various places in difficult outlying areas and host clinics. We will have an evangelism tent, a children`s ministry, a medical clinic, and a dental clinic; complete with a pharmacy. It goes without saying the needy people, extreme poverty, and spiritual darkness, we will encounter. We will reach out to 1,000 to 1,500 people with each clinic. I am scheduled to be a part of at least three clinics during the time I am there. I return to MS on the 17th of October.

Michelle and I wanted to let you know about this trip and a little of what is happening with us while in MS. I would like to ask you to especially pray for my family and I as we continue to adjust to MS and reach out to Cambodia.

  • The Cambodia Medical Mission - October 8th - 17th (souls saved, basic needs of the people met, my health, the "extra" finances to make the trip, etc)

The Mind of Christ

Hi! I can`t believe it has been over two weeks since I wrote an email update. We continue to work on this step to MS, on the way to Japan and Asia, with much prayer and excitement. Thank you for standing with us by your love, prayers, and support.

Although it is not always easy, we thank God for His faithfulness to us. I clean the church and take care of the grounds at Christ Life Church of the Highlands here. While doing this work, I continue to search for employment that will cover more of our basic needs in living. In addition, God continues to release vision as to establish more of a base for outreach to Japan and Asia from this location.

I thank God for the people He leads into our path and look forward to what God wants to develop in this place for the sake of His Kingdom. Pray that we will discern the open doors and meet the "King in the Field" with greater intimacy and fruitfulness than ever before. Thank you for partnering with us in what God has called us.

JAPAN

Just recently, we have enjoyed connecting with friends and family in Japan. While the church in Sendai, with Jeremy and Kumiko Jenkins, remains strong and we hear is doing well, Michelle`s sister, who lives in the tsunami and earthquake region, shares how they continue to get many earthquakes. They actively serve in relief work through Samaritan`s Purse, teams from Iris Ministries, and their own local outreaches. Please pray for the Sendai church, the Jenkins, Michelle`s sister and brother in law (the Sawkas) and all those involved with the relief efforts taking place in the various shelters.

Also, please pray for Michelle and I. Pray that opportunities to communicate the love of the Father God for the Japanese and people of Asia will come and we will be able to effectively fulfill the call God has placed on our lives for as long as we are here in MS and the USA.

MBY OUTREACH

Jacob has joined and performed with the Magnificat Youth Ballet at Ballet Magnificat!  This ballet group ministers the gospel through dance in Jackson, MS and the surrounding area. This past Saturday night, they performed at a local university. God really used Jake and the team to minister the love of God. Your support helps us make this possible for him. He continues to study with the NACD program and will be looking to get his GED as soon as possible. Also, Jake had to write out his testimony to join this group.  Chellie groaned not knowing if he could actually do this.  Well, we were delighted when Jake took the challenge and wrote a very clear testimony in his own words.  We hope to post that sometime for all to read.  It is a blessing to see how God is working in our kids!!

Thank you for praying and supporting Jake; by supporting us. This support allows us to do what God has called us as a family to do in this season! Thank You!

FAMILY

Samantha and Marcia have begun school. They have had quite a few opportunities to babysit; giving them a little spending money. Abigail has also joined the Ballet Magnificat school. She goes for lessons each Tuesday and Friday. Michelle has started sewing costumes again for the new ballet called Snow Queen. She also overseas all the affairs of the house and prophetically ministers to people as lead.

Your prayers and support make all this possible. Thank you!

THE MIND OF CHRIST

Recently, I thank God that we may have and function with the mind of Christ. You see, the mind of Christ is alive, single-minded in devotion to Christ, and causes you to esteem others as better than yourself. When you develop the mind of Christ, you remain pure in action, responsive to the leading of His voice, and peaceful in heart.

Paul said in the book of Romans 12:2, "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of  your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God`s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will."

The more we submit to Christ and allow His Holy Spirit to renew our mind, the more He transforms us from fear to faith, from works to grace, from selfishness to giving, from so many ways of the world, to the life and nature of Christ Himself.

Remember, God is preparing His Bride, the Church, for Her Bridegroom. (Revelation 19:7-9). In a fresh way, I pray that you will hear what the Spirit is saying, magnify the Lord and exalt His name, be transformed by the Word of God, stimulate one another to love and good deeds, and prepare for the return of Christ.

Wow!! It is time to be glad and rejoice!!! Let`s be ready and alert!! Blessings!!
