Dear Partners, Prayer Warriors, and Friends,
LUKE 10: 17-20
“The seventy-two returned with joy and said, `Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.`” `He replied, `I saw Satan fall like lightening from heaven, I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.`”
I love this passage! Here we have the disciples, after having been sent out by Jesus, come back and report their surprise and delight in having received authority to cast out demons and overcome the enemy. Jesus affirms them by sharing how He saw Satan fall like lightening. However, He continued by adding a big “but”. Jesus said they were not to rejoice in that, but to rejoice in the fact that our names are written in heaven. Wow! Wow! Whoa!
We are so often wowed by the great manifestations of Gods power, yet may we get a revelation of how awesome it is to be born into an everlasting Kingdom as a part of a great family. When we get grounded in the Fathers heart through our relationship with Him in Jesus Christ, we will not follow the signs, but the signs will follow us!
GREETING
I thank God for each one of you. We love and appreciate you very much! Your partnership makes a difference.
FAMILY
Michelle and all the kids just got back from visiting OH/PA. Not only did they have a wonderful time seeing friends and family, but also, they were able to get their braces checked by my brother “Dr. G.” Chuck. Thank you Chuck for providing this great blessing to us. And, I want to thank those who partner with us as we keep our eyes on Asia from MS.
THE KIDS
I am so proud of our children. The Japanese school year finished for Samantha. She teaches at the Mississippi State Japanese Supplemental School located in Jackson. She will continue to teach as the new school year begins in April.
And, I am happy to say that Marcia and Abigail will be joining the school in April. So, by attending this Saturday only Japanese school, they will all have opportunity to speak and learn in Japanese. Wow! Who would have imagined there would be a Japanese school in Mississippi.
Ballet Magnificat! (Jake)
Meanwhile, Jake, as you all know, continues to attend Ballet Magnificat! Recently, the group ministered and performed in the Jackson area. I thank God for Jake and his contribution in sharing the Gospel message through the dance. He has been accepted into the Summer Intensive Program. He is really looking forward to this.
M&M
As for Michelle and I, we continue to do what we can to make ends meet while believing God for the next steps in the mission ministry. Although not without trial and stress at times, I thank God for His perfect timing in all areas. Meanwhile, I choose to get the most out of this season in Him.
PHILIPPINES 2012
Although it has proven difficult to raise proper support for this trip, we have, in faith, decided to start the process of ordering tickets. In addition, we have also sent along a portion of the in country costs to those organizing this outreach in Asia.
God already knows all the support needs we have to take this outreach. If you feel God leading you to help with this final push, I need to hear from you now. Feel free to email and let us know of your support. (markgulland@gmail.com)
